Why Email Marketing Is Awesome


Email marketing is awesome. Compared to direct mail, I would choose it 100% every time if I had to make a decision to choose one of these options. The bottom line is that if you want to make more money online in your business, you’re going to have to put email marketing into your marketing arsenal.

Why do you need email marketing? Well just like the gurus say, “The money is in the list”. Imagine having an email list of 100,000 people that you can email out to everyday. Imagine the number of sales that you would be getting on a daily basis. The profits would be huge. Depending on what you sell, you could probably take things light and relax for most of the week.

Getting subscribers is easy if you’re in the right niche. In some niches that I’ve gone into, I would see myself getting 20 subscribers per day just off of a very little advertising budget. And in some niches, I would only get 3 subscribers per day off of the same advertising budget. So you have to test a little bit. See which niche will be most profitable for you.

I want to share with you some of the things that you can do to make your email marketing efforts pay off big. These are simple and obvious things that you will want to do to make your campaign a success, and you can use them within the next 10 minutes. Here’s the first tip.

1) Don’t use HTML emails

In most of the popular email services (like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc), they have images blocked by default. So if you create an HTML email and it’s contains images and pictures and things like that, your email won’t look right. This is why I suggest you use text emails over HTML.

If you run a large internet company, you may be thinking to yourself, “I can’t run a text email marketing campaign… that would be tacky”. But believe it or not, it’s in your best interest to do this. It doesn’t matter how big your company is and what your goals are. If you want to boost response, use the text format. Here’s another tip:

2) Email often

If you’re currently emailing your subscribers like once every 2 weeks, you’re doing your subscribers a disservice. You should strive to contact your subscribers at least twice per week. This way you’re not being a “pest” by emailing them everyday, and you’re not waiting too long to email to have them forget about you. Twice a week is good.

I’ve done multiple tests and have found that twice a week is the magic number. If you have an autoresponder, set it to email every 3 days. This is easy to do in an autoresponder like Aweber.com.
