Your autoresponder is a valuable part of your sales team. It is on the job 24/7 while you are sleeping or taking care of your chores. So you are going to want to make sure that the messages it sends are in tip-top condition. Take note of the following listed tricks to employ that can bring you more profits. They are simple and obvious but in the hustle and bustle of composing messages they sometimes get forgotten.

The first really obvious autoresponder trick that you want to do is to provide value. As the adage goes “Content is king.” People have been seeking good content since the days that cavemen drew on the walls of their caves. People will never get tired of “good content.” Notice that I said “good content.” You want to write something that is going to help your reader achieve their goals or solve some sort of problem. You want to compose something that is going to improve the prospects life. It does not have to be something that is earth-shaking. It could be something that helps a reader with their diet, frequent flyer miles, writing, exercise, etc. Don’t be concerned about giving away information for free because it will come back to you. The second really obvious autoresponder trick to do is to use your messages to build relationships. Be mindful that your reader, in most cases, does not know you. You want to use your messages to build bridges to close the gap between you and your reader. You want to build these bridges by finding out what their needs are and educating and helping them. You also want to paint the best picture of you and your company possible. Remember, the money is not just in the list but in your relationship that you have with your list. You want to build a good relationship with your readers so that they know you, like you, and trust you and will feel good about doing business with you. How do you do this? I’ll refer back to the first trick listed in this article. You provide value. Providing value gains the trust of your reader and turns them into friends. If you develop a long list of friends you will always have someone who you can sell something to.

The third really obvious autoresponder trick is to use the messages to provide leadership. Leadership in this sense does not mean to lead them as some sort of political leader or on a journey, etc. It simply means to lead them to buy from you. You have to approach the reader, through your writing, from the standpoint of a trusted advisor. You want your writings to put you in a position that you are trusted and liked enough that they will accept you as a leader and an authority figure. How do you show that you know what you are talking about and can be trusted as a leader? By the value that you present.

The fourth really obvious autoresponder trick to use is to make friends with the reader. This might seem obvious but often this concept is overlooked. Sometimes messages aren’t courteous or aren’t thought through enough. Sometimes the copy is sloppy and full of typos and broken links. Some people get very offended when they are sent something that appears as though it has not been proof read properly and/or the links aren’t working properly. Sometimes they become so offended that they unsubscribe from your list. So, keep friends on your list by giving your messages a thorough proof reading and by checking your links. Also, you build friends by staying consistent. Pick a set schedule for your messages. Don’t pick random days to schedule your messages because your reader will not know when to expect a
