Email List building is one of the most important things you can do as an internet marketer. This may sound cliché but the fact of the matter is that the phrase “the money is in the list” can’t be more true. If you have spent any amount of time researching internet marketing then you have surely heard this before. I’m here today to say it again but not only that, tell you a few of the secrets on how to build a massive email list and set yourself up to win.

An email list is the most valuable thing you will have when it comes to your internet marketing efforts. So when you get ready to start building your list you need to follow some pretty simple steps.

Step 1: Set up an Autoresponder Service

Your auto responder service is a company where you can plan to have certain email messages delivered to your subscribers at certain times. For example, if someone signs up to be a part of your list, you will have 20 pre-written emails which will go out to them over the course of the next few months. Perhaps each email will be sent 5 days apart. The autoresponder will automatically send these emails out for you. This is extremely important because you need to be able to convey your message to subscribers and build their trust. This is an easy way to connect with them.

Step 2: Entice them to Opt-In

The next step is getting a subscriber to opt in to your email list. This means that they give you permission to send them messages. This is important now because of the extreme amount of spam floating around the internet. The a few ways to do this would be.

· Offer an email course

Now the thing to remember here is that you want this to be something people would want. For instance if you are targeting people within the Dog Training niche then you could give away a free eBook on voice commands. This would be enticing to your audience and make them want to sign up for your list. You will want to make sure that the eBook offers some value to the customer. Now you may have heard that before, offer value. In Internet marketing always remember that value= useable information, motivation, or inspiration. If you can read something and it prompts you to act or solves a problem then it has value.

Step 3: Build Trust in your subscribers

The next key to this equation is to build trust with your subscribers. The best way to do that is to send them emails that do not readily ask them to buy something from you. This could make them feel like you are only out to make some money. Even though you are, you still want to establish a good relationship with them so that they will buy from you over and over again. One way to do this is to send out emails within your autoresponder that speak directly to your subscribers. Send them emails that offer tips for free or tell them certain things to do that will help their situation. For example, if you are in the dog training niche you could send out an email series that speaks about potty training a new puppy or how to introduce a new dog into your home. This would be something that Dog lovers would want to read and if you offer them good solid advice that works then they will start to trust you. Then when it’s time to ask for a purchase they won’t mind pulling out their credit card to buy from you.
